Fake Calls from “BT” claiming “your internet has been hacked”

We are receiving reports of Fake Calls pretending to be from “BT” claiming “your internet has been hacked” and “if you do not assist us with our investigation your internet will be cut off within 48 hours”.

Unfortunately this type of malicious call is becoming more commonplace. We recommend that if you receive a call of this nature asking for access to your computer, that you ask them for a phone number and tell them you will call them back, then using a different phone line or your computer, notify your local police force of this issue, including the time and date of the call, and the callers number if possible, or report it via the
