Malicious Email: “Your Ref: Completion Statement” From: Various Addresses

We are seeing malicious emails titled: “Your Ref: Completion Statement” being sent from various addresses, typically ones that look like BTConnect email addresses. the CQS have advised us as follows: Please be aware that there is currently what looks like a spam email using the CQS logo within the body text of the email, currently being distributed to conveyancing solicitors. Several firms have now reported this matter to us. The subject line of the suspect email is “Your Ref: Completion Statement” and is coming from a btconnect.com email address. Please do not click on any links or download any documents from the links embedded within this potential spam email. We are currently taking the necessary steps to ascertain where the email is coming from and the threat that it poses to CQS member firms.
