Malicious HSBC Emails “BILL PAYMENT ADVICE Our Ref: xxxxxx Counterparty: Your Ref: xxxxxx-10/2016”

We are seeing a targeted phishing campaign against HSBC customers globally who are receiving emails from the domain @securemail-advising.hsbc.com, the email contains an attachment which is confirmed malicious.

The title of the email appear similar to be “BILL PAYMENT ADVICE Our Ref: xxxxxx Counterparty: Your Ref: xxxxxx-10/2016”

The Malicious content is believed to be triggered by clicking/ trying to open the attachment, so if you see an email such as this we recommend that you delete the email without opening.
